About Event

Eight years after co-directing and starring in Good Looking, Lord Zenn is back on stage for his playwriting debut in Scam-Uh-Life.

Kenroy has big dreams to break the cycle of barely getting by - if he can get to his last day of training. Scam-Uh-Life is a comedic tragedy about not being able to catch a break, an ode to the vibrant characters of Barbados.

This play was developed through the “Writing and Performance” project by the Royal Court Theatre in London - a year-long program for emerging writers in Barbados, Jamaica, and Trinidad & Tobago. After being met with positive, critical reception during staged readings in Kingston, Jamaica and London, England, Lord Zenn is debuting the full production here at home in Barbados. Somewhere between a comedy show and a romantic drama, you don’t want to miss this genre-bending production that dives into the complexity and humour of life in Barbados.

Run Time: Approximately 90 minutes, with one 30-minute intermission.

Audience Advisory: This comedy explores the tension of societal & economic pressures in Barbados and includes occasional profanity, references to physical abuse, and brief staged violence. Recommended for audiences 18 and over. Under 18 should be accompanied by an adult
